Billund Airport in central Denmark reopened Saturday evening after a bomb threat kept it closed for most of the day and a man was arrested, Danish police said. During their search of the airport, the police removed an object
“likely to contain explosives”,
but chemical tests will be carried out to confirm or not their presence.
The airport, located in the center of the country, reopened in the evening, according to police. During its closure, many flights had to be canceled or diverted. The police
“arrested a man in his thirties”
who himself informed the police at the airport that the object he had left contained explosives, she added.
Police are also investigating whether there is a link between the bomb threat and the dynamiting of an ATM in Billund before dawn on Saturday. Billund Airport is located near Lego headquarters and Legoland.
