Like Marcus Thuram, Sunday, the world of football knee on the ground shares its emotion and its solidarity with the demonstrators demanding justice after the death of George Floyd in the United States. After Liverpool on Monday, Chelsea on Tuesday put their knees straight in the posture made famous by Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player who made the front page of Time and became a spokesperson for the protests in the United States against violence police. The Blues paid tribute to George Floyd before a session at Cobham, their training center. The players and staff have, on their knees, composed an H (for Humans, Humains in French) in order to support the "Black Lives Matter" movement, as explained in a club press release: "Racism must be eradicated from the society and we have to play our part. - Chelsea FC (at) (@ChelseaFC) June 2, 2020Cesar Azpilicueta, the captain of the Blues, one of those behind the idea of the H explained: "We want to use our position to express that we live in a world in which we have to try to improve our future, to to have a better world with more love and without hatred. We have seen recently what racism can do and we see every day that this kind of hatred must be eradicated from our society. And we all have our part to play. We have the opportunity every day to set an example, to behave, to educate children towards a better world because we know that education is the key to the future. We leave a better world for the younger generation with more possibilities without any kind of discrimination or racism. So everything is important and it's time to speak up and face the attitudes we see. There is no room for all this. ”
