TSV Bernbeuren is preparing for the second half of the second division in order to quickly secure relegation. An important player is missing.

Bernbeuren - The first round of TSV Bernbeuren in football district league 2 had its ups and downs. In the end, however, there is a sixth place with 23 points. The route for the second half of the season is clear: "We want to secure relegation as quickly as possible," says TSV coach Daniel Deli. The preparation for the second half of the season is not going as planned for the Bernbeureners.

Because they actually wanted to fine-tune the remaining twelve games at a training camp on Lake Garda this weekend. But nothing comes of it. The corona virus got in the way of the soccer players. "The risk of bringing the virus along or being quarantined is too great," says Deli. So training takes place on the home court as well as on the artificial grass court in Füssen. “It messes up the preparation,” says Deli. How exactly the training will look like or whether test matches will be made will only become apparent in the coming days. The Bernbeureners have been working for the start of the second round for three weeks. They were running, training in the hall and there have been a few units on the field so far. The mild weather naturally played into their cards.

Bernbeuren's age structure is a good mix

The coach did not put any main focus on the units: "I do not need that, we have no blatant weakness." Instead, Deli is about constantly improving the game. In the group tactical area, for example, this means making the game structure more variable. In the individual area, the focus was, among other things, on the flank technology. In addition, the young players should get to know the processes of the first team.

One of the young players in the Bernbeuren team is Daniel Glatzel. The defender receives a special commendation from Deli for his strong first half of the season: "He is young and has fought for a regular place." But experienced players in the team such as Patrick Landes, Michael Boos and Roman Lerchenmüller also play a special role for Deli: " They go away at the front. ”Bernbeuren has a good mix of ages.

TSV Bernbeuren had a difficult start program

The coach still sees room for improvement in the missing "killer instinct" of his players. Therefore, the first round was only mixed. "We left points behind the opponents from the top third of the table," says Deli. The performances were good, but the young team was not yet ready to win. The coach hopes to see this step in the second half of the season.

The start of the season for TSV was somewhat slow. According to Deli, this was mainly due to the difficult opening program. “Then we had an intermediate high because our strikers hit everything in this phase,” Deli reports. Before the winter break, Bernbeuren was without a win for six games. There was also bad luck.

Thomas Schmölz is leaving Bernbeuren for professional reasons

The start of the 2020 point game year is extremely important for the coach. On Saturday, March 14th, Bernbeuren will play away at the bottom of the table in Aich. There are duels against the relegation teams from Weil, Eichenau and Moorenweis. The Bernbeureners have to do without Thomas Schmölz in the second half of the season. He stopped for professional reasons. It breaks a gap. His personality in particular will be difficult to replace. Lukas Zugmaier will cut back a bit. The TSV does not have to announce a new entry. The long injured Marius Birk, according to Deli an "aggressive leader", is on the right track. He will join the team again.

The TSV Bernbeuren is also successful in skiing, like here in the Kreiscup.
