The planned bus line 862, which is supposed to run through Allinger Straße, causes a lot of trouble in Eichenau. Local residents have launched an online petition against the project. Around 140 have already signed up. Now they explain why they are against the project.

Eichenau - the trigger for the Zoff in Eichenau is the planned bus route 862, which is part of an over-planning of the entire bus network in the Olching, Eichenau, Puchheim, Germering area. The new line is to connect the Eichenauer with the Puchheim train station. “Because the S-Bahn often stops when there is something in Puchheim,” says Hermann Seifert, public transport expert in the district office. People are stranded in Puchheim and can't get any further. However, the new line could take them to Eichenau station and onwards.

The course of the planned line

The 862 bus is supposed to drive over Allinger Straße. A 20-minute cycle is planned, according to Seifert. The operating times are planned from 5.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m., but could also be extended until midnight. Hybrid buses are also planned. These would be twelve meters long.

The basic idea behind the route across Allinger Strasse was to connect Eichenau to the bus network over a large area, says Seifert. "But all of this is not yet set in stone." That will only be decided before the tender in October 2020.

"I generally have nothing against buses," says local resident Ulrich Ramminger. However, like the other supporters of the petition, he doubts the usefulness of this line for Eichenau. Such a connection to the S-Bahn in the residential areas around Allinger Strasse is completely unattractive. "You are faster on foot or by bike."

The Allinger Straße, which is located in a Tempo 30 zone and applies to the right-to-left, is also not suitable for bus traffic in such a dimension, according to the opponents. Above all, they fear problems with oncoming traffic, noise and emissions. They also worry about the safety of the children who live there and who have to cross Allinger Straße on their way to school. "And there are also many older people living here who go shopping by bike," says Ramminger. They may no longer feel safe on the street if a large bus is driving behind them.

In addition, the bus opponents accuse the municipality of not having given sufficient information about the project. You feel ignored and demand a rescheduling of the line.

Seifert cannot understand that: "The topic was three times in the municipal council and also in the newsletter." And also Eichenau's deputy mayor Gabriele Riehl, who currently represents the city hall chief Peter Münster, says: "The residents had had enough opportunity to inform themselves . "

Riehl is shocked that a few days ago election posters along Allinger Strasse were smeared with “No Bus”. Günther Kosler, who initiated the online petition, also condemns the action: "We are dissociating ourselves from it to the utmost." Kosler cannot imagine that someone could have smeared the posters among them. "It could be free riders."

But no matter who it was - "It fueled the mood," says Riehl. The local parties, whose posters have been smeared, have also filed charges. As reported, the groups accuse bus opponents of using the election campaign as a reason for their protest and using unfair means. They wanted objective communication.
