Union Berlin sports director Oliver Ruhnert reprimanded Max Kruse for his trip to a bar.

The 32-year-old striker did not violate any legal requirements.

"We do not want these actions, we think they are wrong too," said Ruhnert after the 1: 1 in Berlin on Sunday evening at FC Schalke 04 on Sky with a view to the hygiene concept of the German Football League.

On Thursday, Kruse first published the invitation to a Berlin shisha bar on Instagram and then a video that shows him with several people at the table playing a digital card game without a mask.

He was in the starting line-up on Sunday.

"He sat down with four people at a table and acted within the legal framework," said Ruhnert.

"He moved as every normal citizen is allowed to move."

As part of the Berlin Corona Regulation, Kruse "behaved correctly".

"It's not like anything happened here that is contrary to our legal requirements."

In many respects, however, the DFL concept is stricter than the statutory Corona regulations of the federal states.

Even with a low pandemic level, it recommends "reduced contact with the neighborhood or the public" and "in the house / apartment if possible".

"It wasn't Max's cleverest, he knows that himself," said defender Marvin Friedrich.

In the team before the Schalke game, that wasn't a big issue.

In Berlin, according to the Corona management report from the State Office for Health on Sunday, the seven-day incidence of the virus spread is currently 86.7 - and thus more than twice as high as the national average (40.6).

The critical value for contact restrictions is 50. In the fight against the rapid spread of the coronavirus, a drastic tightening of contact restrictions is already under discussion.
