The US car rental group (Hertz) has declared bankruptcy in the United States and Canada as a result of being affected by the spread of Corona virus.
France Presse quoted the group as saying in a statement that it had placed itself under the US bankruptcy system, stating that the decision currently only includes its operations in the United States and Canada and that it will continue to work in its main areas of activity in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
She added that the impact of the Corona virus on the demand for travel was "surprisingly large and led to a massive decline in the company's revenues and future bookings", pointing out that "ambiguity surrounds the prospects for the return of imports and the reopening of the market completely."
On April 21, the group announced the abolition of ten thousand jobs in North America, or about 26.3 percent of the number of its employees in the world, in order to save money in the face of the uncertainty resulting from the measures surrounding the epidemic.
