Last weekend, the Chief of Staff, Lt. Col. Aviv Kochavi, was presented with a preliminary investigation conducted following an incident involving the theft of weapons from a military base, the IDF Spokesman reported today (Wednesday).
The chief of staff noted that the initial investigation revealed that this was a very serious incident, in which a number of faults and errors were found.
According to the investigation, over the past year, operations have been carried out to address the security problems in the camp, including those designed to uniquely protect the armory complex.
However, it has been argued that no satisfactory answer has been given to prevent the theft incident.
It was also determined that command decisions and personal conclusions would be made after presenting the conclusions of the Commission of Inquiry to the Chief of Staff.
According to a military source, the incident was investigated by the Israeli police and the investigating military police.
All details of the affair were subject to a sweeping publication ban order.
