(ANSA) - ISLAMABAD, MAY 23 - Pakistan has recorded 1,743 new cases of coronavirus and 34 deaths in the last 24 hours: the Ministry of Health of the country has announced today indicating that today the toll has been 52,437 and that of the victims has reached 1.101.
In the last 24 hours, 1,452 people have recovered, for a total of 16,653 so far. At least 249 patients, 15 more than yesterday, are in critical condition.
To date, 460,692 tampons have been performed in the country. The first two cases were recorded on 26 February and there were already over 25,000 at 8 May, while the threshold of 52,000 has been exceeded in the last 15 days.
The southern province of Sindh remains the most affected with 20,883 cases, followed by the Punjab province with 18,730 confirmed contagions.
