While the government is trying to curb the Coronavirus epidemic, Élisabeth Borne, Minister of Labor, call on employees and companies to “go all out on telework”.

While the state is considering different scenarios to curb the Covid 19 epidemic, “

the government encourages employees who can to stay telework.

You have to go to telecommuting as much as possible.

If the position allows teleworking, it is necessary to telework

”, affirms this morning Élisabeth Borne, Minister of Labor, Employment and Integration, on France Info.

"

It is important to go all out on teleworking,

" insists the minister.

She recommends “

teleworking as much as possible on positions that allow it

”.

In September, 12% of working hours were teleworking, according to a DARES study, which corresponds, said the Minister to 30% of employees teleworking two to three days a week.

"

In October, we were rather at 50% of employees teleworking

"at various rates, said the Minister.

She thus recalls that "

the rules are written into a protocol in which the employer must protect his employees

".

However, the minister affirms: "

we have put in place a protocol since September 1 (...) which is generally effective

".

Moreover, concerning the difficulties encountered by catering professionals who can no longer pay their rent, the Minister announces the establishment of a “

tax credit system to encourage owners to lower their rents.

They will have a tax credit if they lower it,

”adds Élisabeth Borne.

The State supports the training of the retraining employee

On the subject of professional retraining, the Minister evokes the “

collective transition

” device where “

the State takes charge of the training of the employee who wants to change jobs

”.

The measure thus allows employees to move towards jobs that are hiring.

"

The device was developed with the social partners,

" welcomes the Minister.

On the reform of unemployment insurance, "

we will try to build together, with the social partners, a new reform

", promises Élisabeth Borne.

Regarding the pension reform "

we are not giving up on carrying out reforms but we have a jostled agenda (...) the government's priority is employment,

" says the minister.

Regarding the upgrading of second-line employees, "

we decided to appoint 2 personalities to identify what we are talking about and how we can upgrade these jobs (...) but the government does not decide alone

", she recalls.
