Since the appearance of the coronavirus in China in December 2019, several animals have been accused of being asymptomatic "intermediate hosts", or of carrying a mutation of the virus, as was the case for mink in Denmark .

It is now the dogs' turn to be seen as “reservoirs” for coronavirus.
Published in the journal Environmental Research, a Spanish study questioned 2,086 people about their daily life during confinement in Spain between March and May 2020, in order to define the behaviors that would amplify the risk of being infected with Covid-19.
Researchers have established that owning a dog increases the chances of being infected with the coronavirus by 78%.
But can dogs really infect humans?
