Incidents then broke out between fans amassed and law enforcement on the alert.
Maradona's funeral is to take place on Thursday evening and not everyone has been able to approach the body of the 1986 world champion. On the images filmed by AFP or the local media, fans and police exchange a few blows. .

President Alberto Fernandez, however, came to the balcony of Casa Rosada to observe the incidents, according to images provided by the Argentinian channel Telefe.
The religious burial is planned in the wake of the Jardin de Paz cemetery, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, spokesman Sebastian Sanchi told AFP.
