For fourteen days, Denis Martin has not been found. Going for a mid-day jog on July 19 near his home in Aubussargues (Gard), a village of 300 inhabitants 9 km west of Uzès, the man never returned. Aged 63, this captain of industry has held many management positions in large companies: Philips, Valeo, SNCF ... And nine years in the firmament at PSA (Peugeot Citroën), from 2008, where he will move from HRD responsible for the Europe and then Asia regions.

A successful international career that led him to found in the Gard, three years ago, his consulting company for industries called IMPC (Industry Management Performance Consulting).

Call for witnesses on Facebook

Since the creation of IMPC, Denis Martin has been living in Aubussargues with his wife and two sons. They were the ones who, not seeing him return, reported his disappearance to the gendarmes the same day. The sixty-year-old would have gone running, as he usually does, on the paths of the surrounding woods… But without notifying his wife or taking his phone and his papers.

The next day, the gendarmerie published a call for witnesses on Facebook, with a photo and description of Denis Martin: glasses and gray hair, with a short beard a few days old, “he measures 1m68 and weighs around 65 kg. He was dressed in black microfiber sports shorts, an electric blue T-shirt and blue sports shoes, ”the message said.

To date, the wanted opinion has been shared 6,000 times and has collected nearly 200 comments, mostly people indicating to have relayed the information, from Nîmes to Alès ... Because many in the region are wondering about this sudden disappearance of a discreet man, with seemingly tidy family life and a brilliant professional career… What is more, described by the neighborhood as “friendly and well integrated in the village”, according to the regional daily Midi Libre.

Research continues in the garrigue

In the field, for two weeks, research continues actively. “We were still yesterday (Editor's note: Friday July 31) in the scrubland to rake from 6 am until the end of the afternoon, confides a source familiar with the matter. In addition to the family, many locals came to help. Large resources have been committed, with a dog squad and a helicopter to fly over the area… ”

In vain. A judicial investigation into the worrying disappearance has been opened, but no significant element has yet been discovered. "In the scrubland, it's always complicated, but it should soon settle down," said the same source. Given the scale of the device and the scope of the research, we should not delay in finding something ”.
