Mannheim (dpa) - In the ongoing dispute over the continuation of the season in the third division, SV Waldhof Mannheim is now demanding five-digit costs from the German Football Association.
Around a week before the planned restart, the second in the table sent the DFB an invoice for 21,000 euros from Saturday, according to dpa information, another one of about 58,000 euros is to follow in the next few days.
The SVW relies on an ordinance from the state of Baden-Württemberg. "We passed the costs of disinfection material, masks and working hours on to the hygiene officer and his two assistants," said Managing Director Markus Kompp of the German Press Agency. The respective hygiene officer in the clubs is responsible for the regular corona tests for players and the coaching team that are required for game operations.
"The costs for the concept (...), especially for the tests (...), are borne by the organization responsible for the organization of the competition or competition operation", says the regulation with regard to the implementation of sporting competitions and competitions, that the club relies on.
The Waldhöfer will also pass on the costs for the quarantine training camp, the team, trainer and functional team on Sunday, which costs around 58,000 euros, to the association, as Kompp announced. The season of the 3rd league is to continue on May 30th.
