The Colombian professional cyclist Nairo Quintana has denied all doping allegations.
His team Arkéa-Samsic had already been searched during the Tour de France, and two arrests were made public after the tour ended.
Quintana assured him that he was a “clean” driver, explaining that “no doping substance was ever found”.
"I have nothing to hide and I never had anything to hide," emphasized Quintana: "I've always been a clean driver in my entire life as an athlete."
The public prosecutor's office in Marseille has started investigations.
According to French media reports, among others, Dayer Quintana - like his brother Nairo in the service of the French team - is the focus of the investigation.
"The authorities entered my room and confiscated completely legal vitamin supplements because they may not have been known to the French authorities," Quintana said in a statement.
According to "Le Parisien", the two people in custody are a team doctor and a physiotherapist.
With both "many health products and drugs have been found".
Arkéa-Samsic had not won a stage in the tour, and the team came last in the prize money ranking.
Nairo Quintana, Giro winner 2014 and Vuelta winner 2016, finished 17th in the overall ranking.
