Federal judge revokes Trump rule that denies asylum to migrants crossing through a third country before arriving in the US

The rule, which went into effect in July 2019, prohibits immigrants from applying for asylum in the United States if they previously went through a third country and did not apply for the benefit there. In his decision, Judge Timothy Kelly called it "illegal, arbitrary, and capricious."
