Iran, sacred places reopen tomorrow

The sacred sites of Iran, closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus, will reopen tomorrow at the same time as Eid el Fitr, the Islamic festival that celebrates the end of Ramadan. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - TEHERAN, MAY 23 - The sacred places of Iran, closed mid-March due to the coronavirus, will reopen tomorrow with Eid el Fitr, the Islamic festival that celebrates the end of Ramadan. This was announced by Iranian President Hassan Rohani, specifying that religious sites will remain open from sunrise to sunset.
    Speaking at the daily coronavirus fight headquarters meeting, Rohani added that government officials will return to work on May 30.
   The Iranian authorities had reopened part-time the government agencies since April 11, after a brief lockdown to contain the pandemic.
