Prevention is better than cure. Convinced that this precept is also valid for housing, the neo-insurer Luko and Netatmo, the Legrand subsidiary specializing in connected objects for the home, have developed a joint commercial offer. Netatmo customers will be able to benefit from a 10% discount on their home insurance at Luko. The offer is however reserved for users of a complete home surveillance system, including an audible alarm, a surveillance camera and three door and / or window opening detectors.

With this offer, Luko wants to "reward users who have this approach to protecting their home". For the start-up, which has 20,000 customers, it is also a way to reach a wider audience. Especially since Luko is only present in France and it intends to launch abroad. This partnership with Netatmo, a leader in connected homes, offers it a beautiful gateway to our European neighbors.

To benefit from the reduction on the insurance premium, the user registers his Netatmo customer account on a Luko space. The insurer does not have access to the data, moreover, Netatmo has taken the gamble of offering recording and storage only locally of the recorded images. In addition to the discount, Luko first provides faster compensation in the event of a disaster, thanks to video and information from motion detectors, to facilitate reimbursement. However, insurance is not dependent on whether the system is active or, at worst, broken down during the burglary. Luko can also hope that users of a Netatmo security kit will be robbed less than the average and that its loss rate will drop.

This partnership illustrates an increasingly important trend in insurance. The entire sector is eyeing connected objects to better understand the uses of its policyholders. The connected house and the connected car are the two main areas of development for these 4.0 insurance contracts.
