But despite the care, most of the clubs could not avoid contagion in their squads.

Since May 20, when the first cases in soccer players were registered, with eight positives in Santos Laguna, to date 97 players have officially contracted COVID-19 , considering only the templates of the first teams. That is, of the 451 registered professionals, 22% have contracted the new virus. One in five footballers has already tested positive for coronavirus.
With a third of the 2020 Guardians developed, in addition to the hard economic blow for the clubs , redoing their strategy in the face of positive casualties has been the greatest sporting challenge for the 18 participating institutions.
Santos, the one who has reported the most infections
The most affected team has been precisely that of Los Guerreros, the first of the 18 that experienced this pandemic. Of its 26 players registered in Liga MX, 19 have already tested positive for coronavirus, which represents 73% of its squad. The most famous cases were those of Jonathan Orozco and Guillermo Almada. The then archer of the Laguneros, and today the goalkeeper of Xolos, held a meeting at his home, in which he possibly contracted the virus. For his part, the Uruguayan technical director revealed that he was also one of the positive cases, and that he did not know the causes for which he contracted COVID-19.
Chivas, the most affected by infections
Compared to what was experienced in Torreón, the Flock suffered from infections at the start of the contest. So far they have announced six positive players, which turned into a serious problem to make up their starting team. Miguel Ponce, Fernando Beltrán, and Alexis Vega are the starters who have missed games due to this evil, in addition to Uriel Antuna, Ronaldo Cisneros and Oribe Peralta.
