A child under two years old was attacked by a mastiff on Friday evening in Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. According to France Bleu, which reports the facts, the boy, aged 19 months, was evacuated in serious condition to the Bayonne hospital. Its vital prognosis is however not engaged.
According to the local radio antenna, the victim's mother was walking with her child whom she held by the hand in their family property. They would then have passed by their dog, attached to a leash.
Several bites
The mastiff, a mountain dog patou crossed Beauceron, would then have jumped on the child, for no apparent reason, biting him several times in the face and skull. The family must now have him euthanized.
