The five-year sales of the United Company for Industry and Trade from the beginning of the year until last month exceeded 4 billion Syrian pounds, an increase of 2.8 billion over the sales of the same period last year.
The company is unique in a group of products, especially medical cotton, shades and medical bands, and it secures the needs of the local market and public authorities, according to its general manager, Mustafa Hilal, who explained in a statement to SANA that the company is despite the difficulties due to the shortage of its workers, especially in the technical side and the provision of its machines and the difficulty of securing spare parts, but its staff Every effort is made to recover its full production capacities and increase it continuously through the processes of qualification of machines and equipment in most departments.
Hilal stated that the company produced during the first ten months of this year 2.7 million meters of various types of fabrics, while its production during the same period last year was 710 thousand meters, and medical bands produced 7.5 million pieces, an increase of 5.5 million pieces over the same period last year. The amount of medical cotton production amounted to 136 tons, despite the scarcity of raw materials.
Concerning the rehabilitation operations, Hilal mentioned that the number of looms that have been rehabilitated and put into service amounted to 94 looms, with the completion of the rehabilitation and operation of the ram machine in the laundry department at an amount of 83.5 million pounds and the process of investing it began, pointing to the company's endeavor during the coming period to invest a number of machines and equipment of the laundry, which is the printing press and the air-conditioning station to be Producing new and varied items, achieving profitable profits for the company, and improving its production and marketing capacity.
Hilal pointed out that the project of rehabilitating two jacker machines for the laundry department, with a value of 52 million pounds, was approved, while it was announced for the third time that an electrical transformer would be purchased to support the company’s system, avoid electrical outages, and raise production capacity.
