Rouhani: US Sanctions - Barbarism that does not exist in the Iranian people
The Iranian president sharply attacked Washington's decision to impose additional economic sanctions on his country.
He said the move would cause tens of millions of dollars in damage, and addressed the public: "The address of the people's hatred - is the White House"

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani today (Saturday) sharply attacked the United States after Washington imposed further sanctions on a number of Tehran officials.
"The Americans have caused tens of millions of dollars in damage to Iran," Rouhani said in a statement on local television.
Rouhani called on the Iranian public to turn their anger on Washington.
"This is barbarism that does not exist in us," he added.
"The address of hatred of the Iranian people is the White House."

Earlier this week, United States National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien announced that President Donald Trump had signed a presidential decree imposing sanctions on any company or individual involved in the import or export of weapons to Iran.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo detailed that economic sanctions would be imposed against the Iranian Ministry of Defense, some of the country's defense industries, and against several senior members of the Iranian regime, who are involved in the uranium enrichment program.
Pompeo made it clear that these measures were intended to ensure that the arms embargo on Iran would not be stopped.
One of the factors against which sanctions will be imposed, according to Pompeo, is Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who very recently tightened his country's relations with Iran.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Manuchin, who spoke after him, announced further sanctions on senior officials of the Iranian missile program and the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency.
In addition, Manuchin also announced sanctions to be imposed on bodies involved in missile production in Iran.
