This is demonstrated by the new Suzuki Sport Hybrid which debuts with a price list that starts at 23,850 euros and which thanks to the brand new 1.4 BoosterJet (K14D) engine completed by the new mild hybrid 48 Volt system makes available to the driver 129 Hp generated by the unit thermal 4-cylinder plus 13.6 HP (in fact they are measured in Kw and 10) of the electrical unit (ISG). The reduction of 16% in consumption and 15% of CO2 emissions in the NEDC mixed cycle compared to the previous 1.4 BoosterJet engine is really important. The sporty Suzuki icon - protagonist not only of many rallies in the hands of expert drivers, but also of the Aci Rally Italia Talent 2020 format intended for those who aspire to become a driver - is back, with its unmistakable racing spirit combined with a refined MHEV technology that it is good for exhaust emissions and tachometer. As it was possible to verify in a test on the Piedmont roads and in a short test on the Busca circuit, near Cuneo, the novelty introduced by the Suzuki Hybrid system guarantees a better response in acceleration especially at low revs, i.e. in that phase ( as coming out of a hairpin) where the effect of overfeeding is not yet felt. The ISG electric unit that delivers 10 kW offers the so-called 'torque boost' which makes acceleration smoother by providing additional torque to the engine until the turbo reaches the point of maximum efficiency.

And since, unlike other manufacturers who have enriched sports models in this segment but have not taken care to contain the increase in weight, the new Suzuki Swift Sport Hybrid offers a mass of only 1,020 kg, the result of the passage of the pair from 220 to 235 Nm translates, both on the road and on the track, into a very reactive and satisfying behavior, worthy of the most famous and most expensive 'small bombs'. It should be noted that the arrangement of the various components of the MHEV system has also been made according to the best balance of the chassis: the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) which performs the tasks of alternator, electric engine and starter motor, is integrated in the 4-cylinder Booster Jet. The 48 Volt lithium-ion battery is placed under the front passenger seat and it recharges automatically during slowdowns, without the need for any external intervention. Finally, the converter, which transforms the voltage from 48 to 12 volts to power the on-board services, is located under the driver's seat. The system designed by Hamamatsu's engineers also assigns the electric motor the task of keeping the thermal unit rotating at a minimum during the deceleration phase - when the clutch pedal is pressed - without the need to inject petrol, which entails a useful zeroing of consumption every time you are in this driving situation. The changes introduced at the platform level also pass with flying colors: the 'Heartect' structure has been designed by Suzuki to ensure greater torsional rigidity and at the same time contain the weight. This result was obtained by increasing the welding points and optimizing the arrangement of the structural components, so as to achieve an optimal balance between lightness and strength. Also important are the changes to the suspensions, with a stabilizer bar with a larger section than the Swift non Sport - a novelty that has made it possible to roll - while the wheel supports have been modified to reduce the camber angle when cornering. the new Swift Sport Hybrid is also appreciated for a series of ADAS that translate into autonomous level 2 driving. These are the systems - with the typical name in Italian, much more understandable than the acronyms in English - 'attentofrena ',' eye-limit ',' shoulder guard 'and' vaipure '. Also present is the 'guidadritto' system which, by intervening directly on the steering, keeps the Swift at the center of the road, and 'stays awake' which warns in case of distraction or drowsiness. Complete the adaptive cruise control. The standard equipment of the Swift Sport Hybrid also includes rear parking sensors, heated sports seats, sports pedals, rear view camera, full LED headlights with automatic change of high beam, keyless, rain sensor, automatic air conditioning and infotainment with 7-inch touch screen, navigator with 3D maps, DAB + radio, Bluetooth and MirrorLink connectivity.
