(ANSA) - PERUGIA, AUGUST 24 - Via Lattea, the rare specimen of white mare born on April 5, 2014 in the Carfagna kennel in Assisi, right at the foot of the Basilica of San Francesco, will become a mother. The pairing with Six Pack, the phenomenal winner of the Kentucky Futurity at Lexington's Red Mile complete with a world record of 1.49.1 per km, therefore worked. Sergio Carfagna, his breeder, reveals it.

The father of Via Lattea is Gruccione Jet, a champion of the trot, bay of 2003, which has won up to 280,000 euros. The mother is Melodiass, daughter of another champion, Toss-Out.

The mare - also famous on Facebook - the first entirely white filly born in Italy, after being sold in October 2015 to one of the most prestigious stables in the world "Knutsson Trotting" and after her debut in Sweden, she was transferred to America under the orders of trainer Ake Svansted with whom she not only raced and won, but also achieved a prestigious career record of 1.11.3 per kilometer which places her at the top among the Italian females of her conscription.

"Now the adventure continues and curiosity about this new experience as a mother grows since, since hers is a dominant white 'gene' - she is not an albino as many mistakenly think - the child she will give birth could probably have the white color of his own cloak, as Dr. Maurizio Silvestrelli, holder of the Veterinary Chair of the University of Perugia, revealed to us ", explained Father Danilo Reverberi, the Franciscan friar" in love with horse racing ", as he defines himself, a friend of Carfagna and technical guide of the Assisi stable.

"Now all that remains is to wait for the events - added Carfagna, in a note - and the course of nature: the genealogy of a little horse that for many would not have lived more than a few months could continue to amaze the whole world". (HANDLE).
