Talking about a police program usually refers us to drama or action.

Warner Channel premieres the seventh season of a crime series that is the opposite and that takes place in one of the boroughs of New York City, Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

This comedy revolves around Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), an immature, but talented detective for the NYPD in Brooklyn's 99th district.

In a telephone interview, actors Melissa Fumero and Joe Lo Truglio, who play Amy Santiago and Charles Boyle, talk about the challenges that their characters have faced in the past seasons.

It is logical that, over 7 seasons, the characters will grow.

For the character played by Melissa, Amy, she had a goal, to be a sergeant: “The most important challenges for Amy have been her dreams and the challenges she experiences every day.

When she became a sergeant, she did not know how to deal with becoming a boss and having to give orders and how to deal with someone who was below her and the future she would face to fulfill her goals.

It's been funny how he fell down and struggled to get by, ”says Melissa.

For Joe, Charles does not need the approval of others: “The challenge for Charles has been to set limits.

The characters have been affected by the great energy he has.

Something that he has realized is that he does not need, or seek, to feel valued by others.

He realized this since he became a dad and that has been a great challenge for him.

He knows that nobody defines him as a person ”.

What are we left with in season six?

Unmasking Commissioner Kelly for his corruption was not an easy task.

Detective Peralta had to recruit a team of undesirable policemen to devise a trap that exposed Captain Holt's rival.

But making up this “suicide squad” also included the participation of Madeline Wuntch, Ray Holt's other nemesis, who after the success of the operation took over the position left by Kelly.

His first move: demote Holt from his captaincy and send him out to patrol the streets.

What to expect from the seventh season?

If you don't want to know, this is a warning known as a Spolier Alert.

The seventh season will have Raymond Holt in a tight uniform, but in the face of an attack against a councilman, Jake Peralta will have to lead the investigation and decide to add Holt to his team out of some pity.

But a boss is always a boss and they will soon clash at the command voice.

Holt's new challenge to his career will be presented, which will involve his adaptation or something happening in his relationship with Wuntch to return to a leadership position.

Jake and Amy, meanwhile, will continue to reconcile their marriage with their police duties, but they will give life to Mac, in an episode so funny in which a blackout throughout New York will not prevent Jake from reaching the birth of her son.

“With the arrival of Mac everything changes.

It will have an effect on the team, but this will go a long way because the writing team allows each character to grow.

As for my character, there will definitely be changes due to the arrival of his son.

But I am very excited to see what direction it will take in season 8 that we are about to start filming, ”says the American actress of Cuban descent.

What makes this police series funny?

That despite the issues that are experienced in a police station, it also touches on personal problems experienced by the characters: “Something that is wonderful about Brooklyn Nine-Nine is that when very big events happen in the lives of the characters, such as marriage between Jake and Amy or that my character of Charles becomes a dad or that Rosa Díaz comes out of the closet, they are events like any other in real life and this the only thing that shows you is that life goes on and I like that about the program, It is never very hard and it shows you that there are little things that follow its course, ”says the actor who also directed an episode of season 6.
