Not only in Israel: Many countries around the world come back to life, including Spain, Italy and the US • Airlines expand destinations and governments talk about returning tourism

After three months in which citizens of most countries of the world were closed in homes and after getting used to seeing the Times Square in New York empty of people alongside sad pictures from the empty streets of Spain and Italy - most of the countries of the world come back to life. Photographers from all over the world have in recent days documented the full streets, shops that have returned to work and there is already someone talking about the return of tourism in the coming weeks.

Dutch-French Air France-KLM is scheduled to start flights to several destinations in about a week, including Madrid, Prague, Milan, Rome, Budapest, Warsaw and Helsinki. The company will require all passengers to wear masks for the entire flight, in order to minimize the possibility of infection. In the first phase, the company will only operate flights to destinations close to France and the Netherlands and over the next few weeks we expect to see expansion in terms of both goals and scope of activity if some expansion continues in the current trend.

In Bavaria, Germany, the hotels and tourist attractions are expected to open by the end of May.

Many airlines have already announced that they will return to operate flights to Tel Aviv, including the Portuguese TAP, US Delta, Italian Alitalia, Air Canada, British Airways and many more that are expected to return to Ben Gurion soon.

One issue that will decide the return of airlines to Ben Gurion Airport is the isolation issue. Currently, there are reports of an agreement that currently includes seven countries expected to authorize free passage between them. The countries are New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Denmark, Czech Republic, Greece and Austria. Other countries may join in. Passing between countries will be limited and travelers will have to prove their health, fly with masks and undergo tests, if the agreement is signed.

Yesterday, it was announced that as part of the outbreak of the crisis, civil aviation is expected to return to operations smoothly on June 14, in just over a month. Currently, there are airlines operating at Ben Gurion Airport, but only Israeli citizens can enter the country.
