Regular consumption of olive oil is said to have a positive effect on the brain and reduce the risk of death from dementia. Researchers from Harvard University examined the connection between dietary habits and dementia-related deaths in their study.

People who consumed more than half a tablespoon of oliveOil daily had an approximately 30 percent lower risk of dying from dementia compared to those who never or rarely consumed olive oil. In addition, people who replace a teaspoon of mayonnaise or margarine with olive oil every day have an eight to 14 percent reduced risk of dieing from the disease.
