The 50-year-old conductor celebrates the 200th anniversary of “Missa Solemnis” by conducting the work for the first time with his own musicians and the Audi Youth Choir. “Of all his works, this is the one that required the most work for Beethoven. Technically, he pushes the development of counterpoint further than ever before,” he says.
