Artificial intelligence could threaten up to 8 million UK jobs in the future if measures are not introduced by the Government to avoid a jobs "apocalypse" At risk are different types of employment, from secretarial work to data management to graphics, which could one day be replaced by algorithms. The feared 'apocalypse', as stated in the same study, is however avoidable if government, businesses and unions intervene now to think of solutions aimed at protecting workers. Analyzing 22,000 activities across all types of work, the think tank found that only 11% are currently at risk of being replaced by AI.
