Giulia Stanganini is accused of killing her three-year-old son in Genoa in November 2019. She is also accused of the murder of his mother Loredana Stuppazzoni, whose body she then dismembered and hid.

The judges had declared the woman semi-infirm. In the first instance, she was given a life sentence and was found to be capable of understanding. The Supreme Court confirmed the sentence on Thursday. The sentence is now final, and she will serve a total of 27 years in prison.
