Problems with the wooden construction of the new school campus in Aschheim are delaying completion. In the future, 1,000 high school students and 900 secondary school students will be taught here.

The first cost estimate was 139 million euros; in April 2023, the amount was increased to 150 million euros. The deadline in autumn 2025 can hardly be met, even if we do everything we can to achieve it, said project manager Benjamin Kupp. Legal action has now been taken against the company that is responsible for the construction of this new school in Kirchheim. The new high school will be completed by the start of the 2025/26 school year at the latest, but the budget will probably be adhered to, says headmaster Matthias Wermuth. It will have a four-track high school, a triple sports hall and a school swimming pool, and outdoor sports facilities round off the campus. The buildings will be brightly designed, with a lot of use of wood and daylight.
