There had been repeated warning strikes in the collective bargaining dispute for doctors at 23 university hospitals nationwide. The agreement provides for a linear salary increase totaling ten percent.
In addition, weekly working hours will be reduced from 42 to 40 hours - without any further reduction in salary. Doctors' salaries will increase by four percent in a first step on April 1, 2024 and by six percent in the second step on February 1, 2025, says the Marburger Bund doctors' union. The union had demanded, among other things, 12.5 percent more salary for 20,000 doctors.
