Bad Tölz has several construction sites going on at the same time. The expansion of the local heating network is a key reason for many of the closed streets.

The heating plants work even better when they are connected to each other, says Mayor Ingo Mehner. The biomass cogeneration plant on General-Patton-Straße is one of the new projects in the district town. The town is also getting a new thermal energy center next to the fire station on Lenggrieser Straße. It is not possible to increase this to a certain percentage, says the mayor, and more construction sites are expected to be built in Bad Tölz in the coming years. The city has a population of 1.2 million. The district town is located in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, near the border with Brandenburg and the German-speaking region of Hessen-Wartheland. It has an economy of around 1.3 million people.
