Three associations withdrew from the Night Council last March. They are now calling for a 'radical change in governance' of the council.

They want a "neutral presidency, where the regularly absent Health Assistant would be present.' The operation of the Night Council must be 'completely reviewed,' say the associations. They say this would reconcile festive uses with the need for sleep and the tranquility of local residents. The response from Frédéric Hocquard, deputy mayor of Paris in charge of nightlife, at the time of the announcement of their departure did not convince them. He "regretted" the resignation of the three entities, specifying that the decision to extend the opening of the summer terraces until midnight was "an exceptional measure," only valid during the Games. The three associations are now asking Anne Hidalgo to receive them, in order to discuss "current dysfunctions" and their proposals.
