A petition on the Internet under the title "Save the seaside resort of Starnberg! For a fair price increase!" now has almost 1,000 signatories. The owner of the SUP Club Starnberger See counts around 3,500 paying guests who attend courses and rent boards from her.
Many people can no longer afford day tickets for 15 euros for adults (previously six euros in summer, seven euros in winter) or family day tickets for 30 euros (previously 18 euros/21.50 euros). The petition was initiated by Katharina Nitsch, a 57-year-old employee who already went to high school in Starnberg and her three children learned to swim in the old water park, and they are still drawn to the Seaside resort to this day. The petition calls for fair price increases, the consideration of an alternative step-by-step price increase plan, and reduced access for guests of theSUP station for the duration of the booking.
