The three-day event (17-19 April) kicks off today in Capri. The ministers will also have the opportunity to discuss the response to Russian aggression in Ukraine.

In line with the Government's strong focus on Africa, there will be a session in which the Foreign Minister of Mauritania, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, will also participate. The agenda of the works will focus on the situation in the Middle East, with particular attention on the latest developments following the Iranian attack on Israel, on Gaza, and on the crisis in the Red Sea. On Friday 19 April, at the end of the event, the G7 will hold a summit in Rome, with the aim of strengthening their partnership with the Continent. The G7 ministers will discuss the stability of the Indo-Pacific, a priority region for political balances and world trade, and major global issues such as infrastructural connectivity, cyber security, Artificial Intelligence and the fight against disinformation.
