Disappearance of Émile, 2 and a half years old, occurred on July 8, 2023 in the isolated hamlet of Haut-Vernet. Eight months later, the judicial investigation opened for "arbitrary arrest, kidnapping, detention or sequestration of a minor under fifteen years of age" has not yet shed light.
Three main hypotheses, more or less probable, remain open: fatal accident without the intervention of a third party, a fatal accident caused by a thirdparty and disguised as disappearance or a kidnapping followed or not by a murder.
