Commissioner Vincent Lafon was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years. He was found guilty of having consulted confidential files of the national police.

His partner, a former poker player, received six months in jail for fraud. She must also pay a fine of 2,500 euros and 3,000 euros in damages. Lafon already sentenced to a ban on practicing in 2008 for "voluntary abstention from preventing a crime" in the hubcap affair, a case of police violence in which a man was arrested with a hubcap hoop between the buttocks.
