Investigators hope after the Jewel theft in the historic Green Vault in Dresden by witnesses new evidence on the offender's car. The police and the public prosecutor's office published a photo taken by a surveillance camera of the escape vehicle, which the thieves later set on fire in an underground car park.
According to investigators, the car is a bright Audi with a dark roof. As a year of construction, they stated in 2016.
Even the ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY ... unresolved" deals with the case in the evening. The investigators hoped that new findings to identify the previously unknown perpetrators. The investigators assume that the act was planned longer term. The target of the thieves had been spied "with high probability", it was said.
In this context, police and prosecutors are asking in particular tourists for photos or videos, which originated between 1 October and 25 November near the Green Vault. In addition, the driver of a black transporter is wanted as a witness who was there shortly before the deed.
