(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 17 - A Pakistani court has sentenced former president Pervez Musharraf to death in the trial for charges of high treason. The Pakistani press reported this. Musharraf resides in Dubai and announced his return to Islamabad, subjecting him to the possibility of being able to bid for legislative elections at the end of July. Musharraf took power with a coup in 1999 and was president 'de facto' between 2001 and 2008.
