The last stone: after 34 years, the shooting for "Lindenstrasse" ends on Friday, the final will be on TV in March 2020. We have collected moments from the history of the ARD series.

After 34 years, the shooting for the ARD series "Lindenstrasse" ends on Friday. For the last time, actors like Marie-Luise Marjan (Helga Beimer), Moritz Sachs (Klaus Beimer) and Irene Fischer (Anna Ziegler) will be in front of the camera in the WDR scenery in Cologne-Bocklemünd. The last episode will then be shown on television on March 29, 2020. A good year ago, the ARD television program conference finally decided against an extension of the production contract.

The "Lindenstrasse" is the longest running series on German TV. It was intended to show the everyday life of a neighborhood, but also repeatedly picked up on current, sometimes provocative topics. In the early years, it even caused some scandal: In 1990, "Lindenstrasse" went down in TV history with the first gay kiss in a German series.

"Lindenstraße": the final sprint!

On the occasion of the last day of filming, Til Schweiger commented on his role as Jo Zenker in the series in the early 1990s. The books were really bad, said the actor of the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" (NOZ), and his role "absolutely stupid". He is sorry for the ensemble. "They have been doing this for so long that it is not easy to get out of there again. (...) But I was never a" Lindenstrasse "fan."

Read here how our author Anja Rützel said goodbye to the series in 2018 after the announcement that "Lindenstrasse" would be discontinued.
