We had tried, even if with little conviction. First the acid green, then the ultra violet and finally the living coral (the colors that have set trends in fashion and beauty over the past three years). They were not easy to wear, nor to use as a make-up and were not suitable for all sizes and ages, but if (like Eve first) curiosity is a woman we have all tried and used these colors of energizing, dynamic, spatial and futuristic air . Makeup artists and stylists have committed themselves to instagram and youtube to teach us how to use them without fail, with which combinations, side effects and prudence included, but now everything becomes easier.
The trendy color for the new year is the 'classic blue' (Pantone 19-4052) with which you can relax because, like the total black, it is a 'comfort color' of excellence. Blue is the symbol of calm, tranquility and balance and, as explained by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of The Pantone Color Institute, 'we live in a time that requires trust and faith. We want more calm, solidity, reassurance. Classic blue is reassuring, reliable, it gives courage to the future. It is a reassuring, protective tone that leads to calm, confidence and the need we had strongly. Timeless, very elegant and simple, as suggestive as a sky at dusk, it is an opportunity for everyone.
The US company that has the task of cataloging and identifying colors for industries around the world has signed an agreement with LG VDL, a Korean giant of make-up products, which has already produced packaging and make-up powders with the color of ' classic blue 'Pantone original. Meanwhile, the multinational beauty companies, from the luxurious Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent to the more pop of Sephora and Kiko, have already produced eye shadows, eyeliner and nail lacquer for the nuances around the full blue. How to use it and how to combine it to perfection?
This was explained by Nicoletta Pinna, Valeria Golino's trusted make-up artist, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Alba Rohrwacher and Luisa Ranieri: “Blue is a full color with a high impact, to be used with great freedom but with some precaution and above all always alone, that is, not combined with other nuances, or with clothes that are too colorful. It is a solitary color, even when you choose it to dye your hair. In this way it adds charm. Already for the upcoming festivities it will take the place of black also to make a "smokey eye" type of look more satinized and even glittered. It is also an excellent color to lengthen the eyes by performing a single blue line on the upper eyelid, for the Cleopatra effect, using the eyeliner. The kajal blue, passed into the inner ocular line of the lower eyelid, gives a magnetic and mystery effect. Even the blue mascara passed on the naked eye, that is without any other type of makeup, perhaps combined with a transparent gloss passed on the lips, adds allure. Also a classic 'blue' color mouth is beautiful, both mat and glossed, on a perfectly made up face for a nude effect, that is without other nuances ".
Blue is not always easy to use and has precautions: first of all it is necessary to take a look at the dress before putting on make-up, as Pinna explains: “When there are many shades on the blue is not good anymore. It matches perfectly with black, white or pink kept dresses. Finally, beware of the blue enamels, which are beautiful but never combined with a colored mouth or makeup. Finally blue should be avoided on olive skins because it is a cold color. Instead, it looks very good as an eye make-up because it goes perfectly with all the colors of the iris, from brown to blue to green ”.
