(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, DECEMBER 23 - Tel Aviv is the most pluralistic and religion-free city of Israel. This was revealed by a survey conducted by the 'Hofsheet' organization which instead awarded the black jersey of the ranking to Bnei Brak, a super-religious town not far from Tel Aviv. The survey examined the 24 largest cities in Israel and ranked the rankings based on their attitudes on 10 social and religious questions. These include openness to unorthodox Jewish religious communities, and LGBT community, the amount of funds invested by the municipality in religious services and the possibility of secular burials or public services during Shabbat. Immediately after Tel Aviv, there is the not distant city of Modiin which last year was instead in first place. To trigger the overtaking, the recent decision of the Tel Aviv municipality to introduce Shabbat public services. Instead, both Haifa - a mixed Arab-Jewish city, long considered a bastion of tolerance - and Jerusalem descend.
