Celebrations Castellania Coppi, Novi Ligure and Tortona, in the province of Alessandria, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the death of Fausto Coppi. Three initiatives that continue and conclude those of 2019 for the centenary of the birth. On Thursday 2 January at 10:30 a mass will be celebrated in the birthplace of the Campionissimo in the church near the Mausoleum which houses the remains of Fausto and his brother Xerxes; followed by the presentation of the 'Welcome Castellania 2020' prize to the Belgian sports journalist Philippe Maertens, the French journalist and writer Salvatore Lombardo and the entrepreneur and great cycling enthusiast Valentino Sciotti. At the Museo dei Campionissimi in Novi, from 4pm, cutting of the ribbon for the exhibition 'La Matta and the Airone at the' 52 'Tour dedicated to the Alfa Romeo Matta AR 52, flagship that accompanied the National and the Airone in that triumphant Tour of France. In addition to the legendary off-road vehicle, a series of photographs and panels that tell its story are on display. 'Fausto Coppi 100 years from birth, 60 years from death' is the title of the 17:00 meeting in Tortona in the multipurpose room in via Milazzo. Films, soundtracks and testimonials from sports journalists will usher in the inauguration of another review of images.
