Fired from "Z'Amours", Tex loses his appeal against the production company

Dismissed after a joke on battered women, the host claimed 1.2 million euros from Sony Pictures Television.

For Tex, the judgment on appeal was no more favorable than that of the industrial tribunal. In a judgment rendered on December 3 and disclosed by La Lettre A on Monday, the Paris Court of Appeal agreed with Sony Pictures Television, the France 2 game production company "Les Z'Amours", which had dismissed the host for "serious misconduct" in December 2017 after a joke about battered women made on a C8 show.

"Do you know what we say to a woman who already has two black eyes?" She's terrible. We don't tell her anything! We have already explained it twice! ", Tex exclaimed on the set of" C'est que de la Télé ", a program hosted by Julien Courbet.

A "trivialization" of violence against women

Challenging his dismissal, the host had claimed 1.2 million euros for unfair dismissal. A request rejected by the industrial tribunal in July 2018, which however had reclassified as CDI the 144 CDD accumulated by Tex in 17 years of issue. He had thus obtained only 45,000 euros in damages, an amount confirmed on appeal last month. For the Paris Court of Appeal, Tex did indeed infringe a clause of his contract stipulating that he should not make comments contravening "public order and morality".

Furthermore, she believes that the behavior adopted by Tex "in the days following his intervention on the program" C'est que de la tele! ", Far from distancing him from the apparent trivialization of violence vis-à-vis vis des femmes resulting from the terms of the "joke" proffered, on the contrary reinforced this trivialization, under the pretext of censorship imputed to his employer, indirectly questioned on several occasions during these shootings ".
