(ANSA) - BERLIN, JANUARY 6 - German police killed a man of Turkish nationality who shot and stabbed agents by brandishing a knife in the city of Gelsenkirchen. The man was noticed by the cops because he was hiding the weapon behind his back. Despite the warnings - said a police spokesman - he refused to stop his assault, forcing an agent to aspararise him by killing him. No confirmation, however, that the man screamed "Allah Akbar" during the assault, routed to "rumors of some" by the police spokesman. Germany remains on alert following a series of Islamic attacks that have hit the country. The bloodiest in 2016, when a truck launched into the crowd of a Christmas market in Berlin killing 12 people. In recent years, dozens of suspects have been arrested or accused of terrorism in Germany.
