While south-eastern Australia is consumed by fires, a cyclone is now threatening the north-west of the country. It was gaining power on Monday, threatening the town of Broome with winds that could reach 125 km / h, announced the Australian weather agency. This tropical storm is not expected to have an impact on forest fires.
Tropical storm Blake is already classified as a category one cyclone, with winds blowing at 75 km / h. She is slated to move to category two on Tuesday morning when she comes close to Broome, a town of 14,000.

The storm is expected to be accompanied by very heavy precipitation. Authorities fear flooding in "the coastal areas of West Kimberley and East Pilbara regions".
