The third stage of the Dakar 2020 saw the victory of Carlos Sainz (Mini) in the cars and Ricky Brabec (Honda) in the motorcycles. Both the Spanish and the American have thus jumped to the top of their respective general rankings. Sainz, paired with compatriot Lucas Cruz, prevailed at the end of 489 km (404 of special) around Neom (Saudi Arabia). The two-time winner of the race resisted the return of the reigning champion, the Qatariot Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota), who remained behind him by 3'31 ".
