Four Italian mountaineers will go on skis to the World economic forum in Davos, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, to protest the climate crisis and ask that "more ethical and sustainable business models be applied". Their "rebellious action" is called "Your path is to nowhere" and will start from Sondrio on January 21 next, the day the Forum starts.

The four will cross the Alps in a self-sufficient "zero impact" setting to protest those who talk about sustainability "in the heart of an ecosystem that is destroyed for profit". The spokesman for the project was Giovanni Montagnani, an engineer with a doctorate from the Polytechnic of Milan, a one and a half year old girl and founder of the CrowdForest dissemination collective.

"Eighty kilometers and 3,500 meters in altitude, up to 3,000 meters above sea level, to be covered in just three days with skis on your feet and in a zero-impact self-sufficiency regime: the harsh alpine winter does not scare Montagnani and his three companions: Luca Fontana, photographer and influencer specialized in wild lands, Michele Dondi, graduate in Mathematics at the University of Milan, financial programmer analyst, mountain, trail and ski mountaineering enthusiast and Marco Tosi, mountain guide, food technologist , 3 daughters, a life for the mountains and for environmental protection.

"We want to write this new story that begins with four ski mountaineers who arrive in Davos via the mountains, with their skis and backpacks, while leaders from all over the world will descend the ladders of their jets to talk about sustainability and equity - explains Montagnani - We have chosen to leave from Sondrio, although they are all originally from Varese, to get closer to the Alpine communities, the first to suffer from climate change. With this expedition we want to give visibility to all those environmental movements that are struggling to make their voices heard, like Fridays For Future and Exctintion Rebellion, because only collectively can a change be marked ". Finally, a "decisive action of rebellion" explains Montagnani which stems from the direct testimony that the four Italians, passionate about mountaineering, have the impact of the climate crisis on the mountain ecosystem: a temperature rise of 2 degrees centigrade in a century that " brought to the alteration of infinite delicate balances, indelibly ".
