(ANSA) - NUORO, JANUARY 16 - It is now official: the first permanent Central Region for the repatriation of migrants (Cpr) from Macomer will open on Monday 20 January. The Pec sent by the Nuoro Prefecture arrived at the Municipality yesterday afternoon. Everything is ready, therefore, in the former prison of the town of Marghine, renovated to accommodate irregular foreigners.
"As of Monday, the structure is operational to accommodate about fifty people, but as soon as work is completed, it will reach 100 places available - explains the deputy mayor of Macomer Rossana Ledda - We do not know if someone will already arrive on Monday or if it will still take a few days to see the first ones here migrants. The Municipality has worked hard in recent years to arrive at the opening of the center and ensure that there was a favorable economic impact for the city. There is a company that has won the tender for internal services: canteen, laundry , cleaning, infirmary. All this generates new jobs and restores vitality ".
