(ANSA) - NEW YORK, JANUARY 17 - Less than ten days after the ceremony for the assignment of the Grammys, the organization puts it on its leader. Deborah Dugan, the first woman to lead the awards that are considered to be the Oscars of music, was removed from her post within six months of her name. An official statement mentions allegations of misconduct by another female member of the RecordingAcademy (organization that organizes Grammys).
According to rumors, however, reported by Variety, there would have been a real coup against the Dugan.
The changes proposed by the CEO, in the name of diversity and greater inclusion, would in fact have been poorly digested by some older members of the organization, little inclined to a so-called 'reform'. In place of Dugan, producer Harvey Mason Jr. was appointed interim
The Grammy ceremony will take place on January 26th. Performances are planned by artists such as Lizzo, who had eight nominations, Aerosmith, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, HER, The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Bonnie Raitt, GwenStefani. (HANDLE)
